Three Generation Abstracts of Early Bastrop County Area Family Groups: Avery, Curtis, Dancer, Davis, Eggleston, Perkins, Reid, Walker These families arrived in the 1820’s and 1830’s to Austin’s Colony. Curtis and Sims families were part of the Old Three Hundred. Many migrated to Bastrop from Austin’s first colony or came directly to Bastrop from the United States. By the 1840’s and 1850’s some of these families moved to neighboring counties. Many had land grants on the Colorado River and were neighbors. These families intermarried. The genealogy is complex at times. The abstracts are from larger works on the Curtis Family; Hutchison-Reid Family; and Gray-Dancer Families. With the exception of the Gray-Dancer genealogy done for a family reunion, these works have not been published.
